## 1. Overview

Administrators manage **Channel Mapping settings** to ensure that **data sources are correctly categorized and operators have the appropriate permissions** to modify mappings.

This guide explains how to:
✅ **Enable Channel Mapping for users**
✅ **Configure default and custom mappings**
✅ **Manage operator access and permissions**

## 2. Enabling Channel Mapping for Operators

By default, Channel Mapping is **restricted** to prevent unauthorized changes.

### Steps to Enable Channel Mapping for Operators:

1. **Login** as an Administrator.
2. Navigate to **Settings > User Permissions**.
3. Locate **Channel Mapping** in the permissions list.
4. Toggle **Enable** for the desired users or roles.
5. Click **“Save Changes”** and instruct the user to log in again.

## 3. Managing Channel Mappings

### A. Assigning Default Mappings

1. Go to **Settings > Channel Mapping**.
2. Review **pre-configured mappings** for accuracy.
3. Click **Edit** to update any incorrect mappings.
4. Click **Save All** to apply changes.

### B. Creating Custom Mappings

1. Click **“Add New Mapping”**.
2. Select a **Source Channel** (e.g., “Facebook Ads”).
3. Assign the appropriate **Storagely Destination Channel**.
4. Click **Save** to finalize the mapping.

### C. Reviewing Mismatched Sources

- Any **unmapped channels** will be listed in the **“Unmatched Sources”** section.
- Admins must **manually assign** these sources before reports update correctly.

## 4. Restricting or Revoking Access to Channel Mapping

To prevent unauthorized edits, admins can **restrict access** as follows:

1. **Navigate to** Settings > User Permissions.
2. **Find the user role** associated with the operator.
3. **Disable** Channel Mapping access for that user.
4. **Save Changes** and notify affected users.

## 5. Best Practices for Admins

✅ **Review mappings quarterly** to ensure accuracy.
✅ **Limit access** to Channel Mapping settings to prevent errors.
✅ **Ensure source channels are consistently labeled** to avoid duplicate entries.

## 6. Administrator FAQs

**Q1: How can I check if an operator has access to Channel Mapping?**
A: Go to **Settings > User Permissions**, locate the user, and check if Channel Mapping is enabled.

**Q2: Can I reset Channel Mapping settings to default?**
A: Yes, by contacting **Storagely Support** or manually reassigning mappings.

**Q3: What happens if a source channel is mapped incorrectly?**
A: The misattributed data may cause reporting discrepancies. Correct it by **editing the mapping** and saving changes.
